Cameron brings nearly 15 years of oil & gas industry experience to First Alpha Energy and brings significant experience across all phases of the upstream oil & gas industry from early stage exploration to field development. Cameron started his career at Apache Corporation, a mid-sized independent where he held several roles of increasing responsibility. His experience there included working in the Exploration & Production Technology group as a petrophysicist, leading the Worldwide Basin Analysis group, managing the North America New Ventures team where he set the company's onshore strategy, and expatriate roles in Argentina and Egypt. Cameron then moved to SDX Energy, a junior oil & gas company, where he served as Vice President of Subsurface, leading the company's exploration and development efforts.
Cameron has significant experience in defining and delivering exploration plays, driving operational efficiency and increasing production, and reducing and quantifying risks across all stages of project development. He holds a BSc in geology from NC State University, a MSc in Geology from Utah State University, and a Ph.D in geological and environmental sciences from Stanford University. He is also currently pursuing an MBA at Imperial College London.
